- Raise awareness about the preventive nature that optimal nutrition has on health. - Reasonably know the energy and nutritional needs of the body. - Study the nutritional aspects, sources and recommended intakes of the different nutrients. - Define nutritional needs at different stages of life, physiological states and most common diseases for which a nutritional intervention can improve the diagnosis. - Present the importance of nutritional education as a generator of healthy eating patterns. - Offer the necessary knowledge to participate in the planning of menus balanced in their energy and nutritional contribution for communities. - Analyze biotechnology from its different fields of application, focusing to a greater extent on food biotechnology. - Know the different food biotechnology techniques and the main types of foods. - Analyze the impact of genetically modified foods and functional foods on current diets.
