Hyperbaric medicine is a novel medical therapy that is based on the use of 100%pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber, known as hyperbaric chamber, usually in pressures that are around between 1.5 and 3.0 absolute atmospheres. Some of the uses of this therapy are: the treatment of decompression syndrome that submarinists usually suffer when rising to the surface, increase the partial pressure of oxygen in the tissues, increase the oxygen transport capacity in the blood. To launch this type of therapies, a series of knowledge about oxygen therapy, underwater medicine or the functioning of hyperbaric chambers are required. Through the present Master Hyperbaric Medicine, students are offered the adequate complementary training to specialize in this area.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
