Using different types of sensors we can observe reality beyond the visible spectrum accessible to the human eye. However, in the case of drones, their flight capabilities allow us to observe objects, even in the visible range, with an unimaginable perspective. The flight height, below 120 meters, allows us unique views, from the stratigraphy of a vertical cliff, to obtaining centimeter resolution photographs of a civil work, a quarry or an agricultural plot. Thus, in the visible range we find the most operational applications of information capture using drones: taking photographs and videos.
- Aerial filming for the film and television industry - Inspection of infrastructure and civil works - Agricultural monitoring with vegetation indices - Photogrammetry for cartography and topography - Geological analysis using lithological indices - Environmental monitoring and terrain studies - Forest conservation and management projects
The Drone Operational Applications I course prepares you to capture images and videos with drones, allowing you to plan effective flights to obtain accurate data. You will learn to perform auscultations in the visible spectrum and apply photogrammetry and Structure from Motion concepts to create detailed three-dimensional models. Additionally, you will master the use of reflected infrared to calculate vegetation and lithological indices, thus improving agricultural and geological management.
