To this end, the following objectives are established, among others: - Interpret quality control plans, applying criteria to organize and supervise laboratory activities, collecting the key aspects in Standard Work Procedures. - Assess the need to use Good Laboratory Practices or other established quality systems, applying them in the form of instructions for laboratory tasks. - Apply protein and nucleotide chain extraction techniques. - Develop the cloning of nucleotide chains using the basic procedures of genetic engineering. - Perform immunological and genetic assays to characterize microorganisms. - Carry out toxicity and mutagenesis tests. - Analyze the measures necessary to prevent risks associated with biotechnology. - Analyze biotechnology from its different fields of application, focusing to a greater extent on food biotechnology. - Know the different food biotechnology techniques and the main types of foods. - Analyze the impact of genetically modified foods and functional foods on current diets. - Acquire basic knowledge of health biotechnology. - Learn the main applications of biotechnology. - Know the legal framework of products derived from health biotechnology. - Know what regenerative medicine, gene therapy and cell therapy consist of. - Analyze the measures necessary to prevent risks associated with biotechnology. - Describe tools for genome analysis. - Perform genome comparisons to identify and store observed differences. - Describe and identify the different computational methods most commonly used in bioinformatics. - Describe and use optimization processes and genetic algorithms to facilitate identification tasks. - Describe and document different phylogenetic reconstruction methods. - Describe the methods of analyzing big data in functional genomics and proteomics. - Identify the procedures for comparing protein structures. - Describe and use the most commonly used methods for predicting the linear structure of proteins. - Represent the methods of fitting between proteins, and between small molecules and proteins. - Analyze security measures related to the prevention of risk derived from biotechnological products and services. - Analyze security measures related to the procedures and work methods of activities related to biotechnology. - Analyze the systems, equipment and devices used to prevent the risk derived from the sequence of biotechnological operations, relating the systems and devices to the risk factors that affect them. - Analyze the means necessary to observe environmental protection measures. - Relate the hygienic risk factors in the facilities where biotechnological activities are carried out with their effects on health and with the detection and/or measurement techniques and devices. - Apply corrective response actions to emergency situations in a biotechnological context.
