Objectives

- Coordinate and supervise the activation of resources and means of intervention to fight forest fires and support contingencies in the natural and rural environment, assessing arrival times and access routes, and the needs to optimize the effectiveness of nearby means and resources. - Direct the actions of the operations deployed to the site of the forest fire or contingency in the natural and rural environment, determining the areas of action and intervention procedures according to the characteristics of the emergency, supervising the actions and safety of the responders and coordinating with other possible services that are operating in the area. - Direct and execute the necessary tasks that guarantee the gradual incorporation of equipment and means to the operation, the change of command, as well as the tasks of finishing and ending the forest fire or contingencies in the natural and rural environment.

Career opportunities

He develops his professional activity in forest fire extinguishing services as a worker dependent on public administrations, as well as in public and private companies dedicated to agroforestry and environmental work, at the head of an intervention unit and in collaboration with other intervention units and/or civil protection operational groups, under the supervision of a responsible superior. Collaborates in the prevention of risks in its area of responsibility, being able to perform the basic function of preventing occupational risks.
