Once the master's degree in medical physics is completed, the students will have achieved, among others, the following objectives: - Know cellular physiology. - Study the different processes that occur in a cell. - Learn the different principles of radiographic technique. - Learn more about the physics of radiation and X-rays. - Know how to interpret the basic aspects of radiology. - Know the interaction of radiation with the body (radiobiology). - Acquire knowledge about performing x-rays in different areas of the body. - Define the precautions that must be carried out when performing an x-ray. - Learn to discern between the different types of injuries that an x-ray can reveal. - Develop knowledge of mathematics and physics related to the correct use of radiation. - Identify the biological effects of ionizing radiation on organisms. - Operate with the teletherapy planning computer system using the management tools of the specific program. - Operate with the brachytherapy planning computer system using the management tools of the specific program. - Verify compliance with the standards of the quality assurance program in specific radiotherapy dosimetric equipment. - Describe the control and management of radioactive material in hospital and extra-hospital medical services. - Explain the fundamental functions and responsibilities regarding hospital radiation protection. - Establish fundamental radiological protection measures. - Apply the basic aspects of the use of radiation surveillance and control processes. - Assess the surveillance and monitoring criteria for exposure to ionizing radiation. - Describe how to carry out an installation project and how to implement the use of radioactive medical equipment. - Define emergency procedures regarding ionizing radiation. - Describe the registration and quality control procedures of the protection units. - Delve into the types of existing biomedical equipment - Know the operation and development of each of the biomedical equipment. - Analyze and evaluate the types of systems and subsystems that exist within each of the teams. - Study of biochemistry. - Know the different components to treat such as carbohydrates, enzymes, vitamins, etc. - Know the different metabolisms. - Learn everything related to biostatistics and its procedures. - Delve into the combination of biomedical engineering criteria. - Know the tools in specific statistical analyzes of each area. - Apply engineering knowledge to obtain advances in the medical field.
