Course in ostomies (university degree + 4 ECTS credits)

The course in ostomies is a complete and updated educational proposal that addresses different didactic units related to ostomies. It is designed to provide knowledge and skills to the participants, allowing them to understand the pathologies, learn about the different types of ostomies and acquire the necessary competences to provide adequate nursing care to ostomized patients, in the same way, you can offer health education to patients for self -care. In our training you will have a highly trained and experienced multidisciplinary teaching team, which focuses on providing quality training for the scope of the ostomized patient.

- Understand colloproctological pathologies that may require the use of ostomies. - Acquire skills to provide specialized nursing care to ostomized patients. - Identify and manage the most frequent complications related to ostomies. - Know and use the different collection devices and accessories for ostomies. - Train in health education to promote self -care and proper management of ostomies. - Improve the quality of life of ostomized patients through a holistic approach. - Update and strengthen professional knowledge and competences in the field of ostomies.

The professional exits of this course in ostomies are those of a nurse specialized in ostomies, care advisor for ostomized patients in hospitals and health centers, teacher or trainer in related related issues and specialized care. In addition, this course also provides a basis for research and the advancement of nursing in this specific field.

The course in ostomies prepares you to become a competent and trained professional in the area of ostomies, capable of providing specialized care to these patients. In addition, it provides you with the necessary skills to identify complications, teach patients about self -care and stoma management, and work as an interdisciplinary team to improve the quality of life of patients.

This course is aimed exclusively at diplomas or graduates in nursing according to Law 44/2003, of November 21, on the ordination of health professions.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
