- Specify the processes for preparing vessels to carry out vessel maintenance work. - Analyze the prevention and security measures regarding the actions of handling facilities and equipment, contained in the security plans of companies in the sector. - Apply the safety plan by analyzing the company's prevention, safety and environmental protection measures. - Apply the company's environmental protection and waste recycling measures. - Prevent occupational and environmental risks involved in the finishing operations of the deadwork, deck, superstructures and masts of vessels and specify the applicable standards. - Carry out operations to prepare the surfaces of the deadwork, deck, superstructures and masts of vessels before proceeding to paint them, using the necessary equipment and means. - Assess the degree of suitability of the protection and the conditions of the boat surfaces for subsequent painting or varnishing, protecting, where appropriate, the areas that should not receive the treatment. - Carry out beautification treatments for the finishing of elements of the deadwork, deck, superstructures and rigging of vessels, handling the necessary tools and equipment. - Carry out the application of varnishes on wooden elements of the deadwork, deck, superstructures and rigging of boats, handling the necessary tools and equipment. - Recognize damage and defects in the painted or varnished areas of boats using the tools and equipment necessary to correct them, without altering the final finishes or causing discontinuities.
He carries out his professional activity both on his own account and as an employee, in small and medium-sized companies, both public and private in nature, dedicated to the construction and maintenance of sports and recreational boats, which may include those of restricted length dedicated to other services or functions, as well as in companies related to fiber-reinforced plastic work, depending, where appropriate, functionally and hierarchically on a superior and may be in charge of lower-level personnel.
This training is in accordance with the training itinerary of the Training Module MF1842_2 Surface finishing operations of the deadwork, deck, superstructures and rigging of sports and recreational boats, certifying having passed the different Units of Competence included in it, and is aimed at the accreditation of the professional Competencies acquired through work experience and non-formal training, through which you will opt to obtain the corresponding Certificate of Professionalism, through the respective calls that are published by the different Autonomous Communities, as well as the Ministry of Labor itself (Royal Decree 659/2023, of July 18, which develops the organization of the Vocational Training System and establishes a permanent procedure for the accreditation of professional skills acquired through work experience or non-formal training).
