Objectives

- Know and acquire the basic concepts of nutrition, as well as the main needs of dogs and cats. - Know healthy eating, since it is accompanied by physical and mental well-being and delays complications of the animal's health. - Know how to balance a daily diet for each dog and each cat in particular, based on their individual characteristics and physiological state. - Become aware of the important role that food plays in the prevention of various health disorders. - Acquire knowledge of dietary therapy in multiple pathologies, which constitutes a total or partial part of their treatment. - Know the work of veterinary pharmacy staff. - Acquire basic knowledge about general notions of pharmacology. - Know the official preparations and master formulas frequently used in veterinary medicine. - Study the main medications distributed in the veterinary pharmacy and their proper maintenance. - Acquire homeopathic knowledge related to the practice of Veterinary Medicine. - Become familiar with the method of preparing a homeopathic clinical history. - Learn to question the client in order to obtain as much information as possible about the patient's illness. - Review and/or update knowledge about the patient's medical examination. - Study mental and physical symptoms as part of a whole. - Diagnose and treat the patient individually, avoiding generalization due to diseases.

What it prepares you for

This Maestría in Animal Nutrition provides the student with the necessary knowledge about dietetics and veterinary nutrition so that pets can enjoy a standard of living that is characterized by their quality, regardless of whether they may suffer from any pathology. The student will be able to learn the basic knowledge of all nutrition, the main needs of dogs and cats, how to achieve a healthy diet, knowing how to balance the daily diet of each dog and cat based on their characteristics and analyze the importance of a valid dietary therapy for multiple pathologies.

This Maestría in Animal Nutrition is aimed at people who work in establishments specialized in animals and whose daily work requires technical knowledge in canine and feline food and nutrition. Also for people who want to obtain a qualification or who are interested in knowing the basic principles of nutrition and their application to animal feeding, taking into account the differentiated needs of healthy and sick animals, and depending on their age, breed and weight.
