The right to equality between women and men and non-discrimination is recognized in article 14 of the Spanish Constitution. Furthermore, the Workers' Statute states in its article 28 that "The employer is obliged to pay for the provision of work of equal value the same remuneration, paid directly or indirectly, and whatever the nature of the remuneration, whether salary or non-salary, without any discrimination on the basis of sex in any of its elements or conditions." Following the publication of Royal Decree 902/2020, of October 13, on equal pay between women and men, the existing obligation to carry out a Remuneration Registry in all companies is created. With this Course on Equal Pay you will learn about the concept of the gender pay gap and its causes. And you will acquire the basic knowledge to comply with Royal Decree 902/2020, applying the principle of remuneration transparency through the four instruments: remuneration records, the remuneration audit, the job evaluation system and the right to information of workers.
