The student must become familiar with HVAC and ACS installation projects in residential buildings and the tertiary sector. The objective of the module is to acquire the knowledge bases for the design and calculation of the HVAC (Heat Ventilation and Air Conditioned) and ACS (Domestic Hot Water) energy systems in the building. The specific objectives would be: Know the parts of a heating and cooling system, its design and calculation of the heat and cold production units and the transport systems to the terminal units. Know how to calculate and size aerothermal and geothermal heat pump systems considered the most efficient and promising for the decarbonization of the energy consumption sector in buildings. Know the design criteria for ventilation systems as well as the regulatory requirements for residential and tertiary sector buildings. Know the design and sizing criteria for DHW systems.
The course "Energy systems in the building: HVAC and ACS" opens doors to roles as a designer of HVAC systems with mastery in conventional equipment, a specialist in aerothermal and geothermal energy, an expert in ventilation systems and a professional in Domestic Hot Water (DHW) systems. Graduates can join architecture, engineering, construction or installation companies, as well as energy consultancies, positioning themselves at the forefront of efficient solutions for building comfort and sustainability.
The course prepares you to understand and apply the bases in the design and calculation of HVAC and ACS systems. You will delve into conventional equipment, aerothermal, geothermal and ventilation, acquiring tools to contribute to the energy efficiency and sustainable design of residential and tertiary buildings.
