Objectives

- Plan surveillance tasks, confirming, where appropriate, the existence of the forest fire through different sources of information, from the intervention unit and/or external to it, to implement the action mechanisms established by the organization. - Plan the operations of the intervention units in extinguishing the fire in a safe and effective manner, following the instructions of the person responsible for the contingency, based on the evaluation of its characteristics, the threatened assets, and the human and technical means available to control the assigned area. - Organize the operations of the intervention unit in the control and/or extinction of the assigned fire zone, communicating the situation to the responsible superior to demobilize human and technical resources and/or change them to another zone.

Career opportunities

He develops his professional activity in forest fire extinguishing services as a worker dependent on public administrations, as well as in public and private companies dedicated to agroforestry and environmental work, at the head of an intervention unit and in collaboration with other intervention units and/or civil protection operational groups, under the supervision of a responsible superior. Collaborates in the prevention of risks in its area of responsibility, being able to perform the basic function of preventing occupational risks.

What it prepares you for

This training conforms to the training itinerary of the Training Module MF1968_3 Control of Operations in the Fight against Forest Fires, certifying having passed the different Units of Competence included in it, and is aimed at the accreditation of the professional Competencies acquired through work experience and non-formal training, through which you will be eligible to obtain the corresponding Certificate of Professionalism, through the respective calls published by the different Communities. Autonomous, as well as the Ministry of Labor itself (Royal Decree 659/2023, of July 18, which develops the organization of the Vocational Training System and establishes a permanent procedure for the accreditation of professional skills acquired through work experience or non-formal training).
