- Understand and apply the conceptual foundations and techniques of relational databases. - Determine the database elements to be manipulated, by interpreting the database design and analyzing user requirements. - Formulate data manipulation and definition queries, based on the design of the DB and user requirements. - Recognize and select objects and data access methods for use in application development. - Manipulate database information by creating components that use objects and data access methods. - Create software components applying structured programming techniques using the elements provided by the development environment used. - Identify the types of data managers and their corresponding data models according to given design specifications. - Describe the attributes and properties of the elements that make up the data models. - Identify the changes produced in the data models. - Identify the general characteristics of operational data management systems. - Explain the characteristics of data management systems aimed at decision-making, and those aimed at specific data. - Formulate, recognize and specify information recovery techniques. - Distinguish the characteristics and functions of the languages and tools for querying and extracting information from data management systems. - Apply information extraction and query procedures in the data management system, using specific query languages according to given needs. - Interpret the documentation inherent to the specific query language, even if it is edited in the foreign language most frequently used in the sector, to allow the formulation and creation of information extraction and consultation procedures based on its technical and functional specifications.
