- Provide students with the conceptual and contextual framework associated with Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Management, allowing them to understand the social construction of risk in relation to the conditions of development planning, the different stages in what is called the systemic approach and the approach and intervention according to the process approach for Comprehensive Risk and Climate Change Management. Competencies - Generate knowledge that allows visualizing the causes of disasters, framed in development models and their territorial implication in actions in accordance with the areas for the application of Risk Management and Climate Change Management - Establish conceptual elements that allow differentiating current risk conditions from future risk conditions, in understanding the possibilities for their intervention integrated into territorial development planning. - Generate concepts that support the theory of processes for disaster risk management and its materialization in terms of the formulation, execution, monitoring and evaluation of policies, strategies, plans, programs, regulations, instruments, measures and permanent actions that allow us to know, reduce risk and manage disasters. - Identify the international framework for Disaster Risk and Climate Change Management and its main challenges for the implementation of processes at the national, regional and local level.
After completing this course, you will be able to access positions in public organizations and NGOs focused on disaster risk management and climate change. You will apply your knowledge in a systemic approach, focused on comprehensive strategies and effective process management. You will be trained to contribute to the development and execution of policies and action plans focused on mitigation and adaptation to climate change, as well as prevention and response to natural disasters, contributing to sustainable development and the resilience of communities.
This course prepares you to understand the dynamics of disaster risk and response strategies to climate change. You will learn to discern between current and future risk conditions, addressing them from a systemic approach for their integration into territorial planning. You will acquire essential knowledge about comprehensive risk management, relying on the international framework and the recognition of challenges at national, regional and local levels.
