The current paradigm of healthcare, for the majority of citizens with health problems, is what has been called comprehensive care, which involves biopsychosocial assessment and the design of a comprehensive care plan, both carried out by a Multidisciplinary Team, which can be as broad as the patient's needs require, but which in its basic composition is made up of medicine, nursing and social work professionals. Health Social Work as a discipline arises with this need to expand the vision of comprehensive care, to treat not only the health problems that a patient presents but also the social factors (family, economic, hygiene, habitability, psychological balance, etc.) that can aggravate or alleviate their illness.

What it prepares you for

This course prepares the student to develop social intervention work in health services, understanding the conceptual aspects, identifying problems and causes, applying the relevant intervention measures and implementing a prevention plan.

Professionals dedicated to social work tasks in health services, as well as professionals in the area of social work who want to specialize in this field. Students of Pedagogy, Psychology, Social Work, Social Education...etc. and in general, to anyone interested in training in this field. The minimum access requirements for this course are to be a social worker, social educator, psychologist, pedagogue, psychopedagogue and/or psychotherapists.

Among the material delivered in this course is attached a document called the Student Guide where a schedule of telephone tutorials appears and an e-mail address where you can send your queries, doubts and exercises. You will also receive the teaching materials included in the course so that you can consult them at any time and keep them once the course is finished. The methodology to follow is to advance along the online learning itinerary, which has a series of topics and exercises. For evaluation, the student must complete all the exercises proposed in the course. The qualification will be sent to the student by mail once it has been verified that he or she has completed the learning itinerary satisfactorily.
