- Understand the concept of city and the urban phenomenon, a phenomenon in constant change and growth. - Understand the concept of urban resilience, as well as its scope and the factors that influence its achievement, within the framework of the urban process and decisions. - Provide students with the conceptual framework, principles and multidisciplinary knowledge necessary to understand urban resilience as a discipline. - Understand that beyond linking resilience with natural risks and climate change, it is possible to understand resilience as an integral strategy of the urban process. - Understand the relationship between the concept of urban resilience and those of sustainable development, environment, infrastructure, mobility, urban services, social cohesion, Smart Cities, green infrastructures and others. - Provide some keys to understand the useful tools and mechanisms for achieving resilience: planning, regulation, good governance and integration of nature in the urban system. - Know the characteristics that make a city resilient and the indicators used to evaluate its level of resilience. - Know the main experiences and strategies for urban resilience that are being carried out institutionally at the international level for the study, design and implementation of urban resilience.
