Objectives

- Understand the origin and evolution of human odor deposited on a trail or succession of footprints, for tracking or monitoring through the dog's sense of smell, as well as the procedures necessary to establish an action plan. - Develop a work program to train the dog to track a pre-determined scent track, taking into account its qualities. - Apply training techniques, based on an established work program, to teach a dog to track a scent trail or succession of footprints of a person, marking their presence or that of clues or personal objects along the way.

He carries out his professional activity both on his own and as an employee, in the field of small, medium and large private companies, and private homes, as well as in public administrations and/entities, related to security, defense and surveillance, detection, search, rescue and rescue of victims, search and detection of odorous substances, in support operations for entities associated with security and/or civil protection. Its activity, in general, is carried out autonomously, although it may depend, circumstantially, on a hierarchical superior.

What it prepares you for

This training is in accordance with the training itinerary of the Training Unit UF2740 Training of dogs in operations to track people and/or personal clues, on a scent trail or predetermined succession of footprints and clues, certifying having passed the different Competence Units included in it, and is aimed at the accreditation of the professional Skills acquired through work experience and non-formal training, a route through which the candidate will be eligible to obtain the corresponding Certificate of Professionalism, through the respective calls published by the different Autonomous Communities, as well as the Ministry of Labor itself (Royal Decree 659/2023, of July 18, which develops the organization of the Vocational Training System and establishes a permanent procedure for the accreditation of professional skills acquired through work experience or non-formal training).
