Topographic surveys are intended to determine the main physical characteristics of the terrain, as well as the position on the earth's surface. The data obtained in a topographic survey are the basis for the graphic representation or preparation of the map of the area we study. Therefore, it is very important to carry out field and office work to survey land and buildings, using direct and indirect methods, and carry out project rethinking, following the established criteria in terms of quality and safety. This course provides the knowledge and skills necessary to work on redesigning projects and works.

- Analyze the different types of topography work. - Perform basic calculations applicable to topographical work and simple representations of buildings or terrain. - Interpret the standardization of plans and maps that are used, extracting the required information. - Describe the topographic methods and procedures in tachymetric surveys and layouts, both for field work and for office work, applying the verification and error compensation procedures. - Recognize and operate topographic measurement and recording equipment. - Analyze construction works, describing the units that make up their execution, identifying when and by whom they are executed, and specifying the hierarchical structure that regulates them. - Develop the layout planning. - Integrate and reconcile health and safety objectives with production objectives, assessing the frequency and severity of risks and formulating prevention or action criteria in the event of an accident. - Apply the techniques of organization and operation of topographic instruments to carry out layouts of construction and civil engineering projects and works, respecting the instructions of the superior or person responsible for the layout.
