In the field of maritime fishing, it is necessary to know the different fields of auxiliary and support activities for the vessel in port, within the professional area of ​​fishing and navigation. Thus, this course aims to provide the necessary knowledge to collaborate in the maintenance and starting of a fishing vessel.

- Apply mining and painting techniques to the parts of the boat, taking into account the composition of the materials to be treated. - Apply maintenance and conservation techniques to cables and wires, both those of the ship in port and those of warehouses on land, depending on their characteristics. - Identify the existing supplies in the warehouses or earth warehouses, so that when any need arises on board the ship, they can be made available in the shortest possible time. - Describe the parts, dimensions and accessories of the ship related to transfer, loading and unloading maneuvers. - Describe the parts of the vessel related to its starting, maintenance and stowage of fishing elements. - Analyze the prevention and safety measures regarding the actions of handling means and equipment, contained in the ship's safety plans. - Apply the safety plan analyzing the prevention, safety and environmental protection measures of the ship - List the preventive means and safety criteria to be taken into account during the launching and/or transfer operations of the ship in port, in accordance with the regulations for the prevention of occupational risks, in order to minimize possible accidents.
