Childhood and, above all, adolescence, are stages in which our children are subjected to strong external pressure that pressures them and forces them to develop behaviors that can lead to unhelpful consequences. One of the great threats of our minors is related to eating habits, related to the image that is projected from the outside on the new canons of beauty and erroneous stereotypes of healthy living. Individuals who have not yet developed a strong personality, who are still under construction, are vulnerable to developing some type of eating disorder, something increasingly common, especially in female adolescents. For this reason, it is especially important to have specific training in the prevention and treatment of this type of disorders, which will allow us to intervene in a comprehensive and effective way.

Job opportunities

Higher Course in Eating Disorders, practicing as a psychotherapist in public or private centers (depending on previous training), such as Primary Care centers, community, individual or group intervention associations, and in private centers for the treatment of eating disorders.

What does it prepare you for?

This expert course aims to provide the student with technical and theoretical training in the field of Eating Disorders, especially those that develop during childhood and adolescence. Students will learn basic concepts of nutrition, as well as the neurobiological bases of eating disorders and the treatment for them, from a psychotherapeutic approach. In addition, you will learn about the main conceptual models that attempt to explain these disorders, as well as their comorbidity.

-Know and analyze the main Eating Disorders, as well as the bases of disturbed eating. - Justify the importance of prevention in the face of any type of problem that affects minors, as well as the role of teachers from the school. - Know the main levels of prevention and the actions that are carried out for each of them. - Know the diagnostic criteria of EDs, as well as the main tools for their detection and analyze the comorbidity of EDs. - Analyze the main conceptual models of the development of EDs and learn what the main intervention strategies are with patients who present it. - Establish the foundations of a balanced diet and learn the basic concepts that allow you to follow healthy eating habits.
