Work in early childhood education requires vocation, a deep knowledge of the child and knowing how to apply principles and methodological procedures that allow the child to develop comprehensively and experience the educational process as something playful and fun. The purpose of this course is to help future educators in this wonderful task, and to do so it will provide them with the content set by the regulations, both for the preparation of educators and for the development of the teaching and learning process. This course will provide the student with the necessary knowledge to be able to program, organize, carry out and evaluate the educational intervention processes of the center and group of boys and girls from zero to three years. In addition, this course will allow the student to obtain the necessary knowledge about child development and the impact that the story has on children, as well as learn to tell and represent a story appropriately.

Objectives

- Analyze the socioeconomic and cultural references, as well as the philosophy of intervention of educational systems and child care services, within the Spanish territory and the European Union. - Compare current national and European legislation in relation to children. - Identify the psychopedagogical principles that underpin the intervention with boys and girls from zero to six years old. - Recognize the usefulness of an educational curriculum and become familiar with the curricular concepts to carry out the educational intervention in a coherent and structured manner. - Define an own model of educational intervention, establishing the techniques and methodological strategies that allow its adaptation to different ages and contexts - Determine the evaluation processes by establishing collaboration with the educational team - Carry out a theoretical approach to children's psychological development from its different areas, including the social, psychomotor, cognitive and creative development of the child. - Understand what the language acquisition process consists of and how its development occurs. - Acquire basic knowledge about children's literature, making special mention of its characteristics and the various forms in which it is presented. - Know the applications and didactic uses of stories as well as the methodology that must be followed to achieve optimal story practice. - Recognize the importance and positive influence of children's literature and the practice of storytelling on the development, in its different areas, of Early Childhood Education students. - Acquire the necessary knowledge guidelines to collaborate in promoting children's reading.
