Description
The hygienic-sanitary maintenance of facilities susceptible to spreading legionella requires specific technical knowledge: water chemistry, cleaning and disinfection criteria, handling of biocides, identification of critical points and development of control programs. Royal Decree 487/2022, updated by Royal Decree 614/2024, replaced the old RD 865/2003 and introduced the Legionella Prevention and Control Plan and the Legionella Health Plan for priority buildings, in addition to reinforcing staff training obligations. This course covers the entire subject with the scope needed by anyone who performs or supervises the maintenance of these facilities, beyond minor routine control operations. It includes the current regulatory framework, occupational safety associated with the handling of chemical products and biocides, and the methodology for identifying critical points.

Al finalizar, el alumnado será capaz de asumir el mantenimiento higiénico-sanitario de una instalación de riesgo: aplicar el marco normativo vigente, elaborar el plan de prevención y control, ejecutar las operaciones de limpieza, desinfección y tratamiento con los productos adecuados, identificar los puntos críticos de la instalación, gestionar la toma de muestras y responder ante un resultado analítico desfavorable o ante un caso de legionelosis.
