The objectives to be achieved by carrying out this Sexual Therapy Course are the following: - Introduce the key concepts of Sexology through its origins as a science. - Describe the main anatomical parts that are involved in sexual function, both female and male. - Explain the main concepts of sexuality such as the human sexual response, sexual dysfunctions and the taboos associated with it, among others. - Take a tour of the evolution of sexuality throughout life, from childhood to old age, contemplating other circumstances that can alter the sexual function of the person. - Describe the main causes and diagnostic criteria of sexual dysfunctions present in women, taking into account what is established by the DSM-5. - Describe the main causes and diagnostic criteria of sexual dysfunctions present in men, taking into account what is established by the DSM-5. - Describe the main causes and diagnostic criteria of other sexual dysfunctions present in women and men, taking into account what is established by the DSM-5. - Describe the concepts and characteristic aspects of paraphilic disorders, taking into account what is established by the DSM-5. - Describe the main problems or sexually transmitted diseases, as well as establish a multidisciplinary treatment. - Explain the origins of sexual therapy and its importance in the treatment of sexual dysfunctions. - Highlight the importance of the figure of the sex therapist in the sex therapy process. - Explain what the Stop/Start technique consists of, its methodological aspects and the effectiveness of the technique. - Explain what the systematic desensitization technique consists of, its methodological aspects and the effectiveness of the technique. - Explain what the placer technique consists of, its methodological aspects and the effectiveness of the technique. - Explain what the proprioceptive awareness technique consists of, its methodological aspects and the effectiveness of the technique. - Explain what the relaxation technique consists of, its methodological aspects and the effectiveness of the technique. - Describe the basic principles of pharmacological treatment in sexual therapy. - Explain the use of sex toys in sexual therapy, their benefits and their main application. - Promote sexual health through the use of contraceptive methods. - Explain the functionality of aphrodisiacs and their use in sexual relations.
