Psychological intervention in situations of crisis, emergencies and catastrophes is an intervention strategy that is carried out at the moment when one of these situations occurs, and seeks to ensure that the person involved recovers from the state of disorder suffered, accelerating functionality as much as possible to be able to face the event on an emotional, behavioral and rational level. Through this Emergency and Disaster Psychology Course, students are offered adequate training to implement this type of strategies, facing the situation with the appropriate knowledge and professional and social skills.

This Course in Psychology in Disasters, Catastrophes and Emergencies is aimed especially at psychologists. Although it is a qualification within the University's own teachings that does not qualify for professional practice, therefore, according to article 37.7 of Royal Decree 822/2021, of September 28, which establishes the organization of university teachings and the quality assurance procedure for the qualifications included within the own teachings that do not require a prior university qualification for access to them, the purpose of the same is the expansion and updating of knowledge, competencies and training or professional skills that contribute to a better job insertion of citizens without a university degree, so it will be open to anyone without an access university health degree who is interested in pursuing it.
