Furthermore, after the Covid-19 crisis, inequalities and unemployment have been exacerbated, which has led to an increase in mental health problems and, therefore, an increase in risk factors. In this situation, the involvement of all powers is crucial to alleviate the effects of this problem. With the Drug Addiction Update Course you will be able to have knowledge of all the particularities of addictions, as well as the different resources that have been designed to address them.

With the Drug Addiction Update Course, and in line with your professional qualification, you will be able to be part of multidisciplinary teams in the social field that design strategies and positive actions to care for the addicted population and also seek how to prevent and raise awareness of the scope of the problem to the rest of the citizens.

By completing the Drug Addiction Update Course you will be able to acquire all the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to fully understand the problem of drug addiction, its fundamental characteristics, as well as the factors that prevent or can influence the development of addiction. In addition, you will be able to learn about some of the myths and realities that exist and the treatment resources that have been designed.

This Drug Addiction Update Course is aimed especially at Psychologists and social workers. Although it is a qualification within the University's own teachings that does not qualify for professional practice, therefore, according to article 37.7 of Royal Decree 822/2021, of September 28, which establishes the organization of university teachings and the quality assurance procedure for the qualifications included within the own teachings that do not require a prior university qualification for access to them, the purpose of the same is the expansion and updating of knowledge, competencies and training or professional skills that contribute to a better job insertion of citizens without a university degree, so it will be open to anyone without an access university health degree who is interested in pursuing it.
