Objectives

- Identify typologies and characteristics of aquatic spaces susceptible to public use and establish the needs for the provision of human and material resources to manage lifesaving services adapted to them. - Apply selection and organization techniques for human and material resources in aquatic lifesaving in compliance with current regulations. - Apply information protocols, selecting recommendations and messages that guarantee to be understood by all types of users. - Design surveillance planning in different aquatic spaces, adapted to the typology of the aquatic space, the users and the recreational sports activities carried out. - Prepare intervention plans and protocols adapted to the most common accidents or emergency situations in aquatic spaces for public use and coordinate the necessary actions to carry them out. - Propose behavioral models to the components of a lifeguard service that make it possible to prevent occupational risks in the exercise of their functions. - Schedule training aimed at the components of a lifeguard service on prevention, surveillance and intervention in the event of accidents in the aquatic environment. - Establish qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the adequacy and effectiveness of lifesaving resources in aquatic spaces.

Career opportunities

It carries out its activity in both the public and private sectors, dedicated to coordinating prevention, surveillance and rescue services in facilities and centers with aquatic activity: conventional swimming pools, natural pools and aquatic parks among others, and in natural aquatic spaces: maritime beaches, river beaches, rivers, lakes and reservoirs among others. Its activity is carried out in: town councils (rescue teams, first aid teams, aquatic intervention units), service companies for aquatic facilities and natural aquatic spaces, active tourism companies, hotels, camping, camps, sports federations, sports-recreational and leisure clubs and associations, educational centers and related facilities, marinas.

What it prepares you for

This training is in accordance with the training itinerary of the Training Module MF1762_3 Management of lifesaving resources in aquatic spaces, certifying having passed the different Units of Competence included in it, and is aimed at the accreditation of the Professional Competencies acquired through work experience and non-formal training, through which you will be eligible to obtain the corresponding Certificate of Professionalism, through the respective calls published by the different Autonomous Communities. as well as the Ministry of Labor itself (Royal Decree 659/2023, of July 18, which develops the organization of the Vocational Training System and establishes a permanent procedure for the accreditation of professional skills acquired through work experience or non-formal training).
