In the world of food industries, it is necessary to know the different fields of wine and liquor production, within the professional area of beverages. Thus, this course aims to provide the necessary knowledge for raw materials and winery facilities, and to carry out the operations of production, aging and packaging of wines, spirits, liqueurs and other derived products, under the conditions established in the procedure and quality manuals, as well as managing the corresponding machinery and equipment and carrying out its first-level maintenance.

Objectives

- Relate the characteristics of grapes, apples and other raw materials with their suitability for the production of wines and ciders. - Apply the ideal conditions for transportation, selection and storage of raw materials to guarantee the highest quality of the product. - Identify requirements and carry out first-level preparation and maintenance operations on production equipment. - Analyze and apply facility cleaning processes. - Analyze the specific indications of personal and general hygiene measures and inspections, adapting them to work situations to minimize the risks of alteration or deterioration of the products. - Analyze the factors, risk situations, prevention and protection measures applicable in the winery.

Career opportunities

It carries out its activity in the industry of manufacturing and packaging wine, cider, spirits and liqueurs, within large, medium and small companies. He joins work teams with other people of the same or lower level of qualification, organically depending on a middle manager. In certain cases of small companies, they may have workers under their responsibility and report directly to the production manager.

What it prepares you for

This training is in accordance with the training itinerary of the Training Module MF0548_2 Raw materials and warehouse facilities, certifying that you have passed the different Units of Competence included in it, and is aimed at the accreditation of the professional Competencies acquired through work experience and non-formal training, through which you will opt to obtain the corresponding Certificate of Professionalism, through the respective calls published by the different Autonomous Communities, as well as your own. Ministry of Labor (Royal Decree 659/2023, of July 18, which develops the organization of the Vocational Training System and establishes a permanent procedure for the accreditation of professional skills acquired through work experience or non-formal training).
