Expert Course in Cognitive Development in Early Childhood Education through Stories as a Pedagogical Resource (Approved and Baremable Course in Competitions for Early Childhood Education Teachers + 5 ECTS Credits)

- Identify the individual capacities of boys and girls, referring them to the stages of development. - Identify and sequence learning that favors cognitive, sensory and motor development. - Plan the temporary organization of the institution, verifying its adequacy to the characteristics and moments of the recipients. - Analyze, develop and apply evaluation instruments and techniques that allow their adaptation to different ages and contexts. - Define and apply techniques and procedures to assess the learning of boys and girls, checking the capacities developed and the achievements obtained. - Define specific actions for boys and girls with special/specific educational needs. - Value the exploration of the sensory qualities of objects as a means to promote child development. - Value psychomotor education as a need for human exploration to achieve knowledge of oneself and one's environment, and to situate educational intervention. - Carry out a theoretical approach to children's psychological development from its different areas including the social, psychomotor, cognitive and creative development of the child. - Understand what the language acquisition process consists of and how its development occurs. - Acquire basic knowledge about children's literature, making special mention of its characteristics and the various forms in which it is presented. - Know the applications and didactic uses of stories as well as the methodology that must be followed to achieve optimal story practice. - Recognize the importance and positive influence of children's literature and the practice of storytelling on the development, in its different areas, of Early Childhood Education students. - Acquire the necessary knowledge guidelines to collaborate in promoting children's reading.
