Higher Course in Educational Evaluation and Diagnosis

The purpose of the educational diagnosis is to provide technical and rigorous knowledge about the needs and development possibilities of students in order to base decision-making on the most convenient (effective) educational actions, in each case, in favor of personal and professional excellence. Any activity requires a prior diagnosis to support it, therefore educational actions, if we want them to be of quality, must necessarily be based on a correct diagnosis, the quality of which constitutes a principle of the quality of education. The ultimate purpose of education is the improvement of each and every aspect of the person, in a coordinated and harmonious way, which means that the concept of education includes the notes of totality and integrity. A quality education must also be personalized, that is, appropriate to the needs and development possibilities of each student. In education, there has been a shift from a concept of "control" focused on the simple application of exams to qualify students' academic performance to EVALUATION, as an analysis and assessment of all the influential elements in the educational process, so that this new concept and praxis of evaluation extends throughout the school system.
