This PALLIATIVE CARE COURSE offers specialized training. We must know that palliative care is the relief care provided to a patient who has a serious or fatal illness, such as cancer, AIDS or any chronic illness whose outcome is the death of the patient. This type of care is administered from the moment of diagnosis and during the course of the disease. At first, the treatment administered is curative or aimed at controlling symptoms, while as the disease progresses, the treatment applied is palliative, aimed at maintaining the quality of life of the patient in the terminal phase. They are provided by a specialist who works with a team of medical professionals, such as doctors, nurses, registered dietitians, pharmacists and social workers, and a psychological support team that intervenes in the emotional and psychological sphere of the patient and family.
