Specialist course in the development of smart cities as an engine of sustainable urban development

The development models carried out in the cities until almost the present are not sustainable, since the environment and resources cannot meet all the needs they require. Thus, the concepts of intelligent city and sustainable urban development arise. With the realization of this course of development of smart cities as a sustainable urban development engine, it is intended to provide the knowledge, competences and skills necessary to carry out a correct implementation of an intelligent city, attending to the Sustainable Urban Development Goals.

- Review the concept of intelligent city and expose the state of development of smart cities globally and specifically in Spain. - Review existing impulse frameworks, essential actors, regulations, as well as some real examples of development. - Focusing the student's interest in the development of new public-private collaboration frameworks and business models for the promotion of urban development technological projects. - Identify the most relevant characteristics of ICT and understand their involvement in smart cities. - This course reviews new forms of collaboration between the private sector and public administration in the development of technological projects linked to smart cities. Theoretical concepts will be explained and practical cases of collaboration and business models will be prepared.

The course of development of smart cities as a sustainable urban development engine prepares students for the acquisition of knowledge, competences and the skills required to carry out a correct development of smart cities.

The course of development of smart cities as an engine of sustainable urban development is aimed at all those people who, either for personal reasons as professionals, are interested in acquiring knowledge related to the development of intelligent cities as an engine sustainable urban development.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
