Sterilization course: Postgraduate in the operating room and sterilization

The work in the operating room requires a series of professional knowledge and competences related to the adequate application of a series of safety, isolation and care measures, aimed at guaranteeing as far as possible the safety of the patient as well as of health professionals. Through the present sterilization course, students are offered adequate sterilization training, storage, cleaning and disinfection processes of the equipment used in the operating room.

Once the sterilization course has been completed, the following objectives will have been reached among others: - Describe the fundamental bases of the operating room. - Acquire the necessary knowledge for a correct action in the surgical field. - Properly identify and select the surgical instruments required in each clinical situation. - Collaborate with the rest of the surgical team. - Prevent possible occupational risks in the health and surgical field. - Describe the basic functions of the personnel in charge in the Sterilization and Cleaning Service of health operating rooms. - Define the sterilization process and describe the most appropriate procedure for each case. - Identify the knowledge related to the sterilization and cleaning service. - Recognize the importance of this service to reduce the risk of acquiring infections or accidental conditions in surgical processes.

Thanks to the sterilization course you will be trained to carry out the different tasks that can be carried out in a sterilization and cleaning service of health operating rooms, either in relation to the functions of the service, as the process that is carried out.

The sterilization course is directed to all those people who want to guide their future work to work on topics related to the service of sterilization and cleaning of health operating rooms, as well as those health professionals who are interested in expanding or updating their knowledge in the field.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
