Correct planning and management of emergencies is of vital social importance, given the increase in demand for comprehensive security, in all its aspects. The development and implementation of the different types of Emergency and Self-Protection Plans is also, in certain cases, a regulatory obligation that affects all levels of Administration (national, regional, regional and local) and all areas of society (both the public and private sectors), such as Royal Decree NBA 393/2007. The purpose of these is to guarantee the protection of people, property and values, for the normal functioning of services in emergency situations, through prevention and the development of appropriate response strategies for each emergency situation.

Objectives

- Learn to evaluate the different risk agents and organize action plans to neutralize them, as well as the immediate relief and intervention measures, both physical and psychological, that must be taken in each case. - Know the basic legislation regarding crisis and emergency management. And the powers and current functioning of the State Administration: The Civil Protection Law, ministerial orders in relation to emergency plans. - Evaluate the different risk agents and organize action plans, as well as relief and immediate intervention measures. - Ensure correct action in case of emergency. - Provide the necessary knowledge to evaluate victims through initial assessments, as well as perform different first aid procedures. - Recognize risk situations, measures and prevention of the most frequent accidents. - Know the basic elements of a Self-Protection Plan and its preparation and approval procedure. - Detail the current regulations on Self-Protection Plans - Ensure correct action in case of emergency in a public building for all its occupants. - Protect and act in the event of an accident, in the event that it occurs, neutralizing it in the shortest possible time, reducing its consequences (damages, losses...) and guaranteeing the evacuation of personnel.

Career opportunities

With this training you will be qualified to perform functions related to citizen security and civil protection in public administrations, emergency services and areas of citizen security. You will also be able to work in security companies and in security and PRL departments of all types of public and private organizations.

What it prepares you for

The general purpose of this Master's Degree is to provide the student with comprehensive training on the techniques, procedures and regulations applicable to the planning and management of emergency and catastrophe situations and Self-Protection Plans. Develops the area of knowledge related to the Areas of Citizen Security and Civil Protection of City Councils and Public Administrations, in Rescue and Fire Fighting Services or other Emergency Services, as well as in Security of public and private establishments. Provides comprehensive training on the techniques, procedures and regulations applicable to the planning and management of emergency situations. On the other hand, it prepares you for the drafting and implementation of a Self-Protection Plan in a practical way, from the purely formal aspects (location, center management, etc.), to the technical ones (inventory, risk analysis and evaluation, training of team members, carrying out drills, carrying out the action program, etc.).

It is aimed at Civil Protection Volunteers, personnel from the municipal, provincial, regional and national public administration related to Civil Protection (mayors, councilors, citizen security area, etc.), for members of the Security Forces and Corps, health personnel, Private Security personnel, for Technicians Competent in carrying out Self-Protection Plans (according to national and regional regulations), workers integrated in the field of Occupational Risk Prevention and Safety at Work, Security Directors and in general for all those people related to the field of emergency and disaster management or who can contribute to the implementation of a Self-Protection Plan.

With our online learning methodology, the student begins his journey through a virtual campus designed exclusively to develop the training itinerary with the aim of improving his professional profile. The student must advance autonomously throughout the different teaching units as well as carry out the corresponding activities and self-assessments.
The load of hours of the training action includes the different activities that the student carries out throughout their itinerary. The hours of telelearning carried out on the Virtual Campus are complemented by the student's autonomous work, communication with the teacher, complementary activities and readings, and the research and creation work associated with the projects.
To obtain the degree, the student must pass all self-assessments and exams and view at least 75% of the contents of the platform. The Final Project is carried out after finishing the theoretical-practical content on Campus. Finally, it is necessary to notify the completion of the Master from the platform to begin the issuance of the degree.
