Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Course: Activities and fields of intervention in the elderly (university degree + 8 ECTS credits)

The course in activities and fields of intervention in the elderly is in full development, updated with the latest advances in the field of gerontology and attention to the elderly. Our training program is designed to provide students with the necessary skills to work effectively with the senior citizen. This course consists of six didactic units that address issues related to active aging, the importance of physical exercise, psychomotor disorders in geriatrics, active participation in physical-recreational games and activities, specific exercises and games for older people, and rehabilitation in this population.

- Understand the fundamental concepts of active aging. - Apply effective health promotion strategies in the elderly. - Identify and address common psychomotor disorders in the geriatric population. - Design and lead physical-recreational activities adapted to the elderly. - Develop skills in planning exercises and recreational games for older people. - Know the most relevant techniques for the improvement of the quality of life of the elderly.

Professional course outputs in activities and fields of intervention in the elderly include positions in elderly residences, day centers, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, gyms for the elderly, gerontological consulting and the possibility of undertaking your own business focused on the attention to older people.

This course in activities and fields of intervention in the elderly prepares you to play a fundamental role in the care and well -being of the elderly, through different exercises and psychomotor games. It enables you to design exercise programs, recreational activities and rehabilitation therapies that improve the quality of life of this population in constant growth.

This course is especially aimed at health personnel, although it is a degree within the teachings of the university that does not enable for professional practice, so according to article 37.7 of Royal Decree 822/2021, of September 28, which establishes the organization of university teachings and the assurance procedure of their quality for the degrees encompassed within the own teachings that do not require the previous degree that does not require a previous degree To them, the purpose of them is the expansion and update of knowledge, competences and training or professional skills that contribute to a better labor insertion of citizens and citizens without university degree, so it will be open to every person without a healthcare health university degree that has an interest in carrying it out.
