Summary

The professional scope of veterinary clinical care is in continuous expansion due mainly to the proliferation of pets and the increase in the care and comprehensive care provided, from nutrition to vaccination through its sterilization, monitoring and prevention of diseases. This has caused a growing and increasing demand for highly qualified professionals in this area. Veterinary nursing has therefore become a professional field that requires a high degree of training and specialization to respond to labor market demands. Through the present course of veterinary nursing, it is intended to offer students the necessary training in relation to the appropriate professional competences to serve clients and attend the clinical care of animals in the consultation, operating room, hospitalization, broadcasting and analysis laboratory, complying with technical-sanitary standards of quality and safety and hygiene, all under the supervision of the physician.

Goals

After completing the veterinary nursing course, students will have achieved the following objectives: - Acquire knowledge related to general veterinary nursing. - Learn the special considerations that must be taken into account in the field of equestrian and exotic veterinary nursing. - Know the process to be carried out in the collection of biological samples, as well as their subsequent analysis. - Analyze and evaluate the specialization in nutrition and euthanasia. - Identify and characterize the main animal pathologies. - Carry out operating support tasks taking into account aseptic techniques, anesthesia fundamentals and surgical and instrumental behavior routines. - Know the main hospitalization procedures to be carried out at the Veterinary Clinic.

Thanks to this veterinary nursing course you will develop the professional knowledge and competences necessary to be able to serve clients and attend the clinical attention of animals in the consultation, operating room, hospitalization, radiodiagnosis and analysis laboratory, complying with technical-health standards of quality and safety and hygiene, under the supervision of the optional. In addition to knowing the care and pathologies of small domestic animals, you will specialize in the treatment of horses and exotic animals taking into account their differentiating characteristics.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
