Summary

Electricity needs a transport system to reach the consumption centers. This transport is done through an extensive network of electric lines that connect the production centers with the consumption points distributed throughout the territory. The transport network is a fundamental element of the electrical system and has a double objective: to ensure that consumers have electricity at all times, and that it reaches the end user with the lower possible losses of energy. The electricity transport network in Spain has more than 34,500 km of high voltage lines, to which the average and low voltage distribution lines must be added. The total length exceeds 600,000 km, about 15 times the perimeter of the earth. High voltage lines and more than 400 transforming stations belong to the company Red Electrica de España. The average and low voltage lines, on the contrary, are owned by different electrical companies that are those that distribute electricity to the final consumer.

Goals

- Address aspects related to the management of the maintenance of high voltage facilities, such as maintenance models and plans, environmental management, safety and health. - Study the different maintenance techniques of high voltage airlines affecting the treatment of the different components. - Know high voltage cable maintenance techniques, different types, terminals, grounding systems, etc. - Study the maintenance of the necessary systems for the proper functioning of high voltage facilities. - Analyze the maintenance techniques of primary substation systems in their different technologies and functions.
