Substance search dog: MF1758_3 Search and detection of odorous substances with dogs

In the field of safety and environment, it is necessary to know the different fields of canine instruction in Civil Security and Protection operations, within the professional area Security and Prevention. Thus, with this course it is intended to provide the necessary knowledge for search and detection of odorous substances with dogs. Within the general competence to instruct the dog in defense and surveillance skills, detection, search, rescue and rescue of victims, search and detection of odorous substances, in the support operations to entities associated with safety and/or civil protection, as well as, perform hygienic care and provide first aid, taking into account occupational risks and animal welfare.

- Apply techniques to evaluate physical, morphological and behavioral conditions, in work areas, aimed at the selection of a dog destined for tasks for searching and detection of odorous substances. - Identify the characteristics and properties of odorous substances for use in the training of the detector dog. - Apply dog training techniques with and without belt control by the training to enhance the olfactory sense of the same in the search and detection of smelling substances, taking into account animal welfare. - Apply techniques for the search and detection of smell substances, attending to criteria of animal welfare, performing registration and location of them.

It develops its professional activity both on its own and of others, in the field of small, medium and large private companies, and homes of individuals, as well as, in public administrations and/or entities, related to safety, defense and surveillance, detection, search, rescue and rescue of victims, search and detection of smelly substances, in support operations to entities associated with safety and/or civil protection. Its activity, generally, performs autonomously, although it can depend, circumstantially, on a hierarchical superior.

This formation is adjusted to the training itinerary of the MF1758_3 Formative Module. that they publish the different autonomous communities, as well as the Ministry of Labor itself (Royal Decree 659/2023, of July 18, which develops the management of the professional training system and establishes a permanent procedure for the accreditation of professional competences acquired by work experience or non -formal training).

This course is aimed at professionals in the world of safety and environment, specifically in canine instruction in Civil Security and Protection operations, within the professional area of safety and prevention, and to all those people interested in acquiring knowledge related to the search and detection of odorous substances with dogs.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
