Summary
Today, the concern for everything that refers to dietary and human nutrition is already very high and is justified by a series of factors, among which we highlight a greater demand for quality of life in contemporary western society that translates into the search for a better diet, healthier and more balanced. The appropriate diet to enjoy good health is the result of the application of basic knowledge that demonstrates the links between the intake of certain foods with some pathologies, such as cardiovascular diseases, arteriosclerosis, obesity, diabetes ... etc.

To prepare you
This master's degree in dietary and nutrition in the third age enables the student to adequately know food and nutrients, diseases and dysfunctions of a person in this period, as well as the energy needs in the third age, thus being able to work as a professional in the elaboration of menus in geriatric centers, dietary consultations, hospitals, etc. Conjugate all the factors that determine food behavior in the individual, such as social and traditional customs. Know the proper process of food change, with their respective speed and different stages, to avoid adverse effects on the health of the elderly. Know and adapt the fundamental factors of food to the old man: quantity, frequency and balance. Know and detect the causes of the malnutrition of the old man, both physiological and psychosocial.
Who is it addressed to?
This master's degree in Dietetics and Nutrition in the elderly is aimed at health professionals who work in dietary and nutrition and care services for older people, especially elderly residences, or who intend to specialize in said group.
Official Character
This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
