Summary

Minors, whatever the limit on which that minority is set, are rights bearers but are not autonomous citizens. They are at a time when it is necessary to protect and educate them. In addition to their inability to defend and exercise their rights and for their weakness to any abuse, they are in a situation of special vulnerability and therefore need all the protective force of legislation, administration and society as guarantors of their personal development. With this course, the student will learn the necessary knowledge to detect possible social problems and identify characteristic pathologies of these situations, as well as for qualification when intervening and resolving social conflicts with negative effects on minors. However, issues such as the improvement of coexistence tend to be considered as something alien to the teacher's work, but the creation of shared spaces and the construction of rules and norms that regulate the functioning of the group must be priority issues in the educational community to achieve their objectives.

Goals

- Define the concepts of risk, helplessness and social conflict to differentiate the specific characteristics of each situation. - Know the different types of abuse and the characteristic signs of each one, to proceed to their prevention and detection. - Know the situation of youth crime, drug use in young people and the circumstances of foreign minors for prevention and detection. - Know the intervention process in residential care in minors centers to execute the corresponding steps of said intervention. - Identify the necessary guidelines for interaction and communication with the child and adolescent in residential care in minors centers. - Provide the educational staff of knowledge, resources and strategies to improve the coexistence and discipline of students, as well as provide instruments for conflict prevention and resolution. In the field of education there are numerous elements that disturb the educational process, therefore the course focuses on training the student in the possible situations to which they can face and tries to make the student internalize and prepare to face them.
