Summary

We are aware that today it is vital to carry out clinical analysis studies in human biological samples. This is because the analysis of the results can support prevention, diagnosis, evaluation control, treatment and future research. Therefore, this course in clinical laboratory techniques and methods intends to prepare the student to work on clinical analysis, knowing the classifications of different substances, and the operation of a clinical analysis laboratory among other tasks.

Goals

- Adapt the extraction and obtain techniques of human biological samples, depending on the characteristics of the patient and the certain analytics requested by the doctor. - Perform reagent and samples preparation operations for analytical processing. - Know the functions of a test and calibration laboratory. - Detail the most used materials and equipment in test and calibration laboratories. - Determine the standards of hygiene and the risk control systems of which every test and calibration laboratory must have. - Enter the general foundations on quality. - Detail the basic aspects of ISO 17025 and its importance for trial and calibration laboratories. - Know the technical and management requirements that a laboratory must meet according to ISO 17025. - Describe the phases through which the test and calibration laboratory must pass to achieve accreditation.

This course in clinical laboratory techniques and methods prepares the student for the proper use of clinical analysis, in addition to knowing the basic principles of the laboratory, materials, techniques used etc. You will acquire knowledge about the necessary procedures when performing the analysis of samples in the laboratories of microbiology, hematology, biochemistry, immunology, physiology, mycology and parasitology among others.
