Master in Civil Protection, emergencies and self -protection plans

The correct planning and management of emergencies is of vital social importance, given the increase in the demand for integral security, in all its aspects. The development and implementation of the different types of emergency and self -protection plans, is also in certain cases, a normative obligation that affects all levels of the administration (national, regional, regional and local) and to all areas of society (both to the public and private sector) and for example the Royal Decree NBA 393/2007. The purpose of these are to guarantee the protection of people, goods and values, for the normal functioning of services in emergency situations, through the prevention and development of appropriate response strategies, for each emergency situation.

- Learn to evaluate the different risk agents and organize the action plans to neutralize them, as well as the immediate relief and intervention measures, both physical and psychological, that must be taken in each case. - Know the basic legislation on crisis management and emergencies. And the current powers and operation of the State Administration: the Civil Protection Law, the ministerial orders in relation to the emergency plans. - Evaluate the different risk agents and organize action plans, as well as immediate relief and intervention measures. - Ensure the correct action in case of emergency. - Offer the necessary knowledge to evaluate victims through initial assessments, as well as perform different first aid procedures. - Recognize situations of risk, measures and prevention of the most frequent accidents. - Know the basic elements of a self -protection plan and its elaboration and approval procedure. - Detail the current regulations on self -protection plans - Ensure the correct action in case of emergency in a public building for all its occupants. - Protect and act before the incident, in the case in which it occurs, neutralizing it in the shortest possible time, reducing its consequences (damage, losses ...) and guaranteeing the evacuation of the personnel.

With this training you will be trained to exercise functions related to citizen security and civil protection in public administrations, emergency services and citizen security areas. You can also work in security companies and security and PRL departments of all types of public and private organizations.

The present master has the general purpose of providing the student with comprehensive training on the techniques, procedures and application regulations for the planning and management of emergency and catastrophe situations and self -protection plans. It develops the scope of knowledge related to the areas of citizen security and civil protection of municipalities and public administrations, in rescue and fire fighting services or other emergency services, as well as in the security of public and private establishments provides comprehensive training on the techniques, procedures and application regulations for the planning and management of emergency situations. On the other hand, he prepares him for the writing and implementation of a self -protection plan in a practical way, from purely formal aspects (location, center management, etc.), to technicians, (inventory, analysis and risk assessment, training of equipment components, the realization of simulation, the realization of the action program, etc.).

It is aimed at Civil Protection Volunteers, personnel of the Municipal, Provincial, Autonomous and National Public Administration related to Civil Protection (mayors, councilors, citizen security area, etc.), for members of the security forces and bodies, health personnel, private security personnel, for competent technicians in the realization of self -protection plans (according to national and autonomic regulations) workers integrated in the field of prevention of occupational risk and safety Work, security directors and in general for all those related to the field of emergency and catastrophes management or who can contribute to the implementation of a self -protection plan.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
