Oncological nursing course (university degree + 8 ECTS credits)

Oncological nursing is a specialty in growing demand due to the increase in the incidence of cancer in the population. The Oncological Nursing course offers you training where you will address both medical aspects and psychosocial aspects of cancer patient care. This course provides you with the necessary knowledge to provide comprehensive care to cancer patients. You will address issues such as specific modalities of treatment, nutritional aspects, pain management, psychological and social aspects, outpatient and home assistance, as well as emergencies in oncology. In addition, in our Oncological Nursing course you will have a team of teachers with extensive experience in the field of oncology.

- Understand the theoretical and scientific foundations of oncological nursing. - Acquire knowledge about the different treatment modalities used in oncology. - Develop skills to address the nutritional aspects of cancer patients. - Learn effective strategies for pain management in cancer patients. - Recognize the importance of psychological and social aspects in the care of the oncological patient. - Obtain competences in the outpatient and home assistance of cancer patients. - Know the most frequent emergencies in the field of oncology and know how to act before them.

The professional exits of this course in the Oncological Nursing are those of working in oncology units of hospitals, clinics and centers specialized in the treatment of cancer. You can also perform in private offices, palliative care units and oncological research centers and in non -governmental organizations.

The Oncological Nursing course prepares you to provide quality and specialized care to cancer patients. Through acquired knowledge and skills, you will be trained to collaborate in the treatment and monitoring of patients, provide emotional support, manage urgency situations and promote the integral well -being of these patients offering specialized care.

This course is aimed exclusively at diplomas or graduates in nursing according to Law 44/2003, of November 21, on the ordination of health professions.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
