Victimology Course (university degree with 5 ECTS credits)

Victimology is the discipline that studies the victims of crime. The main objective of this discipline is to know the characteristics of the victims and the relationship with the offender, so that a relationship of the facts can be established and apply the damage repair measures for the victim. This course gives you the necessary information to know the different victimological classifications and the relationship that can be established between victim and perpetrator. In addition, it also provides information about the different areas that can cause the victimization process in a person, as well as knowledge about how to intervene in the victims of crime, both at the individual and legal level.

- Make an introduction to the discipline of victimology through basic concepts related to it. - Describe the events and historical circumstances that have allowed the creation of the victimology discipline. - Differentiate the different types of victims through the most used victimological classifications. - Establish the most remarkable characteristics of the victim-vicimary relationship. - Describe the main areas of victimization that are studied from victimology: sexual abuse of minors, sexual aggressions against women, domestic violence and gender violence, terrorism, organized crime and computer victimization, among other areas. - Identify the main services of assistance, protection and repair of victims. - Describe the victim's legal situation in Spain, attending to current legislation and the Spanish criminal system. - Explain what the prevention of victimization is and how to work with the victims.

This course prepares you to know the main resources available for crime victims, especially nationwide. It also prepares you to differentiate the different types of victims depending on the criteria analyzed, as well as the different areas in which victimization can occur.

This course is aimed at any professional who is interested in knowing the victimal typologies that can be given after being the victim of a crime, as well as attending to the different areas of victimization with which he relates. It is also aimed at anyone who is interested in knowing the resources and ways of protection and assistance to victims, as well as is aimed at anyone who is interested in accessing the world of victimology through the basic characteristics and concepts that make up said discipline.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
