Postgraduate in Cadaver Makeup Artist and Tanatopractor + University Degree (8 ECTS credits)

- Know the origin and history of thanatopraxy and thanatoesthetics (thanatomakeup). - Acquire the basic and necessary knowledge about human anatomy and physiology. - Identify the different post-mortem alterations and their treatment. - Study how the entire embalming process is carried out. - Study how the entire mortuary makeup process is carried out (previous maneuvers, application of cosmetics,...). - Acquire basic knowledge regarding Occupational Risk Prevention and Biosafety. - Know everything related to Funeral Management. - Acquire the basic and necessary knowledge about cadaver makeup. - Training as a corpse make-up artist - Check the documentation and identity of the corpse before starting the restoration and reconstruction to ensure that both are the same. - Check the availability of the material resources established in the work procedures for carrying out the reconstruction and restoration of the corpse. - Restore the area damaged by different injuries following the established work procedures for the subsequent presentation of the corpse. - Reconstruct the damaged area in cases of anatomical body losses, following established work procedures, to improve the presentation of the corpse. - Eliminate waste generated in the restoration and reconstruction of corpses following the regulations on the disposal of biological waste to avoid risks of personal and environmental contamination. - Apply communication techniques with families and relatives of a deceased person and with a funeral entity to respond to possible requests for information. - Apply psychosocial skills to face possible crisis situations generated in a thanatopraxy service. - Apply teamwork skills that facilitate the provision of the thanatopraxy service to promote horizontal and vertical communication between the different members of a work team.
