MF0540-2 Safety, Survival and First Aid Course in Sea

In the field of Maritime Pesquera, it is necessary to know the different fields of navigation in interior waters and close to the coast, within the professional area fishing and navigation. Thus, this course is intended to provide the necessary knowledge to organize and control safety, fire fighting and emergencies on board.

- Apply survival measures in the sea in case of maritime emergency, determining the most convenient according to the emergency plan. - Explain the means of prevention and fire fighting, selecting the most effective according to the emergency plan of the ship. - Evaluate emergency situations that may occur aboard with patients and injured, applying the necessary measures after observing them visually or by means of radio advice. - List the protection measures to take into account to carry out the work on board safely and avoid marine pollution complying with the established regulations.

He develops his professional activity, both on his own and on behalf of others, in ships dedicated to the maritime transport of load and/or passengers, to practicing, safety and maritime rescue services, to auxiliary services of aquaculture, research, diving, or others, in ports, rías, bays and places close to the coast with limitations in the tonnage of the ship, navigations to be carried out, maximum number of passengers to transport and proper power of the engine.

This training adjusts to the training itinerary of the MF0540_2 Security, Survival and first aid in the sea, certifying having exceeded the different competition units included in it, and is aimed at the accreditation of the professional competences acquired through the work experience and the non -formal training, via which will opt for obtaining the corresponding certificate of professionalism, through the respective calls that they publish the different autonomous communities, as well as the Ministry of Labor itself (Royal Decree 659/2023, of July 18, which develops the management of the professional training system and establishes a permanent procedure for the accreditation of professional competences acquired by work experience or non -formal training).

This course is aimed at the professionals of the world of maritime fishing, specifically in navigation in interior waters and close to the coast, within the professional area fishing and navigation, and to all those people interested in acquiring knowledge necessary to organize and control safety, fire fighting and emergencies on board.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
