Course in analgesia and sedation (university degree + 6 ECTS)

This course in analgesia and sedation offers specialized training in the field. Analgesia is used in the treatment of patients pain that have suffered surgical intervention or require this treatment to improve their clinical situation. To do this, sedation offers a series of procedures and techniques, both at the hospital and extrahospital level, both in adults and at the pediatric level.

- Define the figure of the surgical patient, preoperative and post-operative care. - Highlight and define the possible complications associated with patients who have been surgically intervened. - Define pain, analgesia and its treatment. - Indicate the pharmacology used in analgesia and sedation. - Describe and differentiate the most used pharmacological administration routes in analgesia and sedation. - Establish the patient monitoring procedure. - Explain the approach and management of patients in special situations. - Briefly describe how pediatric sedation is carried out. - Establish differences of extrahospital sedation with that carried out in health centers. - Highlight the importance of transporting patients to the health center in cases of analgesia and sedation.

This course in analgesia and sedation prepares you to address analgesia and sedation within the health field, as well as prepares to establish the different procedures and criteria to consider in its practical application. In addition, it is a course that prepares you in the knowledge of pharmacology and the techniques to be followed in analgesia and sedation, both hospitable and extrahospital.

This course in analgesia and sedation is aimed at any healthcare professional who is interested in the techniques and procedures related to analgesia and sedation of patients who have suffered a surgical intervention, as well as other special circumstances that imply the need to use sedation. It is also aimed at any professional who is interested in the care of patients who receive or have received sedation, as well as any person interested in knowing the approach that is performed from analgesia and sedation of patients in the health and extrahospital sphere.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
