Summary

Health professionals often have to give "bad news" to patients and family, with the emotional impact that this entails on each person to face the bad news and their vital impact. It is a stressful event to manage both for the lack of training and the impossibility of controlling the entire process. This makes it a situation feared by professionals in their daily practice and is necessary to train specifically for it. Thanks to this course in health communication skills: bad news, students can address, in an adequate way, the different support and accompaniment strategies that patients and family members expect to receive after bad news.
