Sociocultural animation course for the elderly (university degree + 8 ECTS credits)

One of the great challenges of societies today is to enable intervention strategies that contribute to active aging in order to prevent dependence situations that can be caused by physical or biological factors but that, in general, have to do with psycho -affective issues. In addition, with this course, the sociocultural animation and social integration student of the old man will learn the necessary knowledge to carry out animation activities with the senior sector with the aim of guaranteeing their well -being and improving their quality of life. Social and educational institutions should not forget their socializing function and their goal of achieving the integral development of the person. That is why sociocultural animation is emerging as a methodology to favor personal motivation and enrichment. This course offers the student training in the management of programs of cultural, leisure and free time activities and in the revitalization of groups in order to favor social integration into the old man.

This course will provide the student with the knowledge necessary to carry out both animation activities and physical activity exercises with the senior sector with the aim of guaranteeing their well -being and improving their quality of life. It will also train the student to organize sociocultural animation activities, both in the urban and nature.

This course is aimed at all those teachers of early childhood education, primary education, secondary education teachers, psychologists, pedagogues, psychopedagogues, etc. And, in general, any university degree interested in performing their professional work in the teaching field. Education professionals interested in quality training that allows them to deal with the changing reality of the classrooms and the new competences that are required for the exercise of their profession.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
