Summary

The professional health figure that has the right knowledge for the elaboration of healthy diets is increasingly demanded. The majority of chronic diseases of today's society are induced by unhealthy lifestyle habits, where eating habits have an important weight. For this reason it is necessary for health professionals to form in this regard and acquire the necessary knowledge to carry out a safe dietary intervention. Thus, after the study of this course, the student will be able to participate in the process of improvement of life habits of society, applying their knowledge in dietary and nutrition.

Goals

-Adir the necessary knowledge about dietary and nutrition to raise awareness among the general population about its application in the prevention of most chronic diseases in industrialized countries. -Otorgar the necessary tools to know the energy and nutrient needs of the human organism. - Study of the nutritional value of the different food groups. -Study the needs of nutrients, sources and their recommendations. - Study of the different techniques of manipulation, culinary treatment or food conservation. -Reply plan to plan balanced menus for both individuals and collectivities.

Professional opportunities

Dietitian-Nutritionist in medical offices, responsible for the elaboration of balanced menus in geriatric residences, hotel complexes, school canteens, etc.

To prepare you

This course aims to establish the bases (anatomical, physiological, biochemistry, bromatological, etc.) and the necessary tools for the elaboration of a dietary intervention. The student will learn to elaborate diets taking into account the weight, size, age, sex of study individuals.

In general, all those interested in training in the field of dietary and nutrition, and, especially, university degrees in the health branch interested in directing their professional career towards the development of one of the professions with the most future: dietitian-nutritionist.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD).
