Comprehensive Care of the Oncological Patient

The course in comprehensive care to the oncological patient provides you with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide comprehensive and specialized care to cancer patients. The course consists of ten didactic units that address different aspects related to the care and care of the oncological patient. It focuses on the understanding of the foundations of oncology, therapeutic care, nutritional aspects, pain management, psychological and social aspects, outpatient and household assistance, emergencies in oncology, specific care, control of symptoms and palliative care. In turn, you will acquire the necessary competences to provide not only comprehensive care, but also quality care to cancer patients.

- Understand the foundations of oncology and different types of cancer. - Acquire knowledge about therapeutic treatments and care used in oncology. - Know the relevant nutritional aspects for the oncological patient and provide adequate recommendations. - Understand and handle pain in the cancer patient, applying effective strategies. - Address the psychological and social aspects of the cancer patient, providing emotional and social support. - Belshing with outpatient and home assistance. - Recognize the most common emergencies in oncology and know how to act in emergency situations.

This course in comprehensive care to the Oncological Patient guides you to work in different centers such as hospitals, clinics, home care centers, palliative care units and organizations related to research and development of cancer treatments, exercising as a careful care specialist for these patients.

The course in comprehensive care to the cancer patient prepares you to develop empathic and effective communication skills with cancer patients and their families, providing them with emotional support. You will learn to address the needs of patients, promoting their well -being and quality of life. You will also be prepared for hospital, home and ambulatory care.

This course is aimed especially at doctors, nurses/physiotherapists/clinical or general health psychologists/etc., although it is a degree within the teachings of the university that does not enable for the professional practice, so according to article 37.7 of Royal Decree 822/2021, of September 28, which establishes the organization of university teachings and the procedure for assuring its quality for its quality encompassed within the own teachings that do not require prior university degree for access to them, the purpose of them is the expansion and update of knowledge, competencies and training or professional skills that contribute to a better labor insertion of citizens and citizens without university degree, so it will be open to every person without health university degrees of access that has interest in carrying it out.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
